In the afternoon we say goodbye to Venice and take the bullet train (180 MPH) to Rome and then a slower train to the port city of
Civitavecchia. We are almost fined $200 on the train to Civitavecchia for not getting our ticket stamped. This makes us pretty frustrated. We finally make it to Civitavecchia and we keep asking folks to point us in the right direction, but nobody seems to know the right way. We ask 3 locals in their 20s for directions and they decide to give us a ride to the hotel, wow! Their kindness makes us feel much better about our travels in Italy. One of the pictures is us trying to stuff all our luggage in their tiny car.
